As someone who grew with chocolate advent calendars, I love opening a door every day for a sweet surprise until Christmas Day. In some ways, it makes Christmas even more special. So when some years ago the first beauty advent calendar emerged, I was absolutely thrilled!
As a beauty enthusiast, it was everything I wanted! Opening the door every day and find a beauty product that I could use and test. Sounds dreamy, right? Except, after 5 years, I grew tired of them.
In 2020, I got the Cult Beauty advent calendar with so many incredible products, all of which I used and loved. In 2021, I had tried most products in most advent calendars and only a selected few had products that would make sense for me to get – but they cost the earth!
Fast forward to 2022 and the exhaustion on advent calendar is even higher. Also, I now have a good sense of how much you should save (product wise) for the investment to make sense. Unfortunately, that means there aren’t many calendars out there worth the money.
Some cost half a YSL bag, which I really cannot justify buying, and the rest don’t have enough products I want to try. So, in conclusion, do we need a beauty advent calendar this year?
The answer is probably not, unless you’re a collector or at least 70% of the advent calendar you buy will indeed be used (I guess you can then use it to gift your family and friends).
If you still want to buy one, which one would I recommend? You find find my top 5 in this post below.
