Whereas for some a luxury product is a waste of money, I have the opposite opinion. I think we should invest in some luxury/ very good quality products that will last far longer than their cheaper counterparts, and will make a big difference in our lives (and the environment).

Wether it is a really good mobile phone, watch or handbag, spending a bit more may actually benefit you in the long run. And that’s where my first recommendation comes in!

Sage Coffee Machine

If you love coffee, then I cannot recommend this brand enough! I switched from capsules around 6 years ago – and I don’t intend to go back.

I own a Sage Duo Temp Pro Espresso Coffee Machine that uses grind coffee instead of capsules. It looks like a smaller version of those coffee machines you see in coffee shops. There are many positives of switching to an espresso machine, but the process of making a coffee won’t be as quick and easy as a Nespresso machine. That’s the only downside in my opinion.

Even so, I think the positives outweigh the negatives! The quality of the coffee is much better and I can recreate a Starbucks soya latte at home without having to spend 3.40€.

According to my calculations, I save around 500€ per year on coffee by not using capsules. That means in one year, my expensive coffee machine was paid for. Isn’t that a clever investment?

A good quality clutch

While some argue that you need a Chanel Boy or a Gucci disco bags for your every day, let’s be real here: most people, especially in the days we live in, cannot afford them.

I believe that it’s when we attend weddings or other big events that we should make good investments. You’ll probably have many more of these events ahead of you and if you choose the right bag quality, you may be able to use the same bag every time!

It’s possible, you just need to be clever about it. Choose a timeless design and colour that works with everything. And don’t worry if you use it more than once, most people pay more attention to the dresses and shoes anyway 😉

A set from your favourite luxe beauty brand

Whether you like luxury beauty or have been thinking of investing in your first luxe beauty set, I have you covered. While some people can afford buying a jar of La Mer Le Crème every 6 months, most people cannot! Which is why this time of year is great to save some bucks.

You can buy these sets during sales and, if you’re savvy, you’ll be able to save up to 70% on beauty sets or even buy that present that your other half will love!

That clothing piece you’ve been dreaming about

It’s not just me who’s been dreaming of Dior’s J’Adior slingback pumps all year right? 😁 We all have one investment piece that we’ve been dreaming about, and if it means that much to you, it will feel special when you buy it.

Some brands have great discounts throughout the year and that 200€ bag, that 150€ blazer or those 300€ Gucci shoes can be much cheaper and for sure pieces you’ll keep for a lifetime (and not something you will need to replace in 2 years).

Second hand/ Vintage

This is a topic I will explore in future months, but I’ve been obsessed with second hand pieces. The worse thing we can do is just bowing to new trends and buy loads of clothes to then throw them away 1 year later.

For years, I’ve been trying to only buy what I love and make sure it’s as intemporal as possible. As such, I’ve been buying a lot on Vestiaire Collective. Most things come with a series number that you can search for and make sure it’s not fake. The company even has a 15€ Authentication service that checks if the product you’re buying is fake or not.

Although they specialise in luxury brands, you can find Zara and other fast fashion products there and you can always give someone else’s product that you love a new life. You can also sell your old clothes that you don’t wear anymore if you want to make some money to finally get that piece you want.
